Thank you for your interest in pursuing the possibility of employment at the Flying W Ranch.
Nestled in the foothills of Colorado Springs, the Flying W has been in the business of serving Chuckwagon Suppers since 1953. During the summer, the Ranch offers genuine cattle drive cowboy fare to 1,250 guests each evening followed by top notch western style entertainment provided by the Flying W Wranglers.
Prior to the supper and show, our guests are able to take a step back in time to the days of the Old West as they walk thru our Western Village and enter any of the twelve shops furnished with period antiques and memorabilia.
From March thru May and October thru December, Ranch guests are entertained in the Flying W Winter Steakhouse, a unique restaurant venue where they order from a menu and are waited on by one of the Wranglers. The western stage show follows each of two seatings.
Should you be hired, your duties and responsibilities would vary depending upon the season and the needs of the Ranch at any given time. Generally, we are looking to employ those who are hardworking, dependable, get along with peers as a member of a team and accept instruction and direction from a supervising manager.
“Dependable” means that you are available to work when needed, show up for work when scheduled, and are on time. During the summer Chuckwagon Season, you would need to be available at least four evenings per week from 4:00 pm until the end of the evening. Ideally, clean up is finished around 11:30 pm, though some evenings may end a bit later. If you are hired for the day crew, the hours are from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm five days a week.
Our guests are the focal point of what we do and the reason we are in business. Part of the job description, then, involves “interfacing” with our guests in various capacities including serving them as the come though “the line” to get their plate of food. Therefore, our need is for those who are outgoing, like people and enjoy serving them.
Should you be hired , you will be expected to be a productive worker with an “on task” focus. You will work, however, in a unique environment in what is also, hopefully, a fun atmosphere with those of similar age as well as our adult staff of “Teachers” who join us each evening to operate the stores in the Village.
If you believe that you are up for the task and fit the description of a Flying W Ranch employee, please take the time to complete the application and return it to the Ranch at your earliest convenience. If after receiving the application we should choose to interview you, we will contact you to schedule a time and a place for the interview.
